Good Grub Club’s first mentoring placement

Good Grub Club’s first mentoring placement

Local student Julyanne Hughes (15) has been selected from a competitive group of candidates to take up the first mentoring placement offered by the Llangollen & Dee Valley Good Grub Club.

Over the coming months, Julyanne will be working with the Llangollen Food Assembly Host, Robyn Lovelock, supporting the Food Assembly social media presence. Through 1:1 training and mentoring, Julyanne will build skills in marketing and sales, and gain exposure to Food Assembly and Good Grub Club businesses.

Robyn Lovelock said “I’m delighted to have the chance to work with Julyanne. During the selection process, she demonstrated skills that made her competitive against other applicants – even those with degrees. Her proactive attitude will be critical for her success in this role, and others she takes on in the future”.

Julyanne is excited about the opportunity “It is a great pleasure to be able to work with Robyn and the Food Assembly businesses, and to develop my writing skills. I feel that the useful tips from Robyn have already helped me gain skills and have improved my knowledge within the food industry.”

The Good Grub Club Committee are developing opportunities for training and qualifications for local young people within agriculture, food production and the hospitality industry. If you are a local food-related business also interested in hosting a young person or a young person keen to build skills and experience within the food industry, please do get in touch via email or find us on Facebook.
