Keep it Local this Mother’s Day

Keep it Local this Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day fast approaching it’s always hard to know what to buy. Will it be another bunch of flowers? A spa day which breaks the bank? Or maybe it’s time to think about utilising the wonderful food and drink providers the Dee Valley and surrounding areas has to offer.  Most of these can be done whilst social distancing too so you can still treat Mum.

Here are a few ideas to get you started;

If she’s a chocolate lover, look no further than Aballu Truffles. Jo’s ranges of delicious homemade chocolates are the perfect gift.  Whether it’s truffles or a bar of printed chocolate,she has it all! You’ll find her at The Cocoa Rooms, Station Road, Rossett  or order online.

A coffee addict? Then Riverbanc is the place to take her. With their endless knowledge of all things coffee, you’re definitely in good hands. You may as well treat her to lunch overlooking the river whilst you’re there!

More of a picnic person? There are some perfect places to fill your hamper! Head to Porters Delicatessen to fill up with delicious cheeses, crackers and olives as well as chutneys from Goch & CO and Garddd Gwyllt . Then round the corner is Llangollen Oggie Shop & Fine Foods for your luxury sausage rolls, gourmet scotch eggs (vegetarian/vegan options galore!) and a bottle of Rosie’s Triple D Cider.

If she’s in to her walking then why not plan a route near The West Arms Hotel. It’s the perfect place to treat yourselves to some well-deserved food! Consistently featured in the Good Food Guide, the team there make the most of what the Ceiriog Valley has to offer, keeping it as local as possible. You won’t be disappointed!

There are so many options locally; we really are spoilt for choice. You can find more of our members here which may provide you with the perfect Mother’s Day present.
